ELIGIBILITY
JM Community Based Living Care will collaborate with individuals, families and respective health providers to assess eligibility for Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities services observing the following criteria
Intellectual Disabilities
Intellectual Disability (ID) is defined as significantly sub-average general intellectual functioning, with full-scale IQs of 70 and below. This is measured by a qualified professional (a licensed clinical or school psychologist) and coexists with significant impairment in adaptive behavior related to intellectual disability. The criteria for intellectual disability are:

Lack of daily living skills (adaptive behavior), such as communication, grooming, dressing, safety, and social skills, before the age of 18.

Individuals with IQs ranging from 71 to 75 may be considered to have an intellectual disability if there is also significant impairment in adaptive behavior, as diagnosed by a licensed clinical or school psychologist.
Developmental Disabilities
A developmental disability refers to a severe mental or physical impairment or a combination of both, manifested as a neurological condition. The criteria for such a disability are as follows:

Onset before the age of 22 (or 18 for intellectual disability).

Directly affects the brain, with the condition continuing indefinitely or expected to do so.

Results in significant impairment of daily living skills (adaptive behavior), encompassing communication, grooming, dressing, safety, and social skills.

Excludes conditions primarily attributed to other factors such as mental or emotional disorders, sensory impairment, motor impairment, substance abuse, personality disorder, learning disability, or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).

Other developmental disabilities include autism, cerebral palsy, epilepsy, or other neurological disabling conditions.
